Levels of progress

This transition matrix shows levels of progress achieved by students from KS2 to KS4. KS2 grades appear on the left and KS4 grades across the top. The diagonal line of green boxes shows the progress that students are expected to make from KS2 to KS4. Students in green boxes are making expected progress and students in purple are making better than expected progress. In contrast, students in red are not making expected progress. Progress can be measured using whole grades or 'fine grades', such as A+, A, A-, or A1, A2, A3, etc.

GO 4 Schools will use KS2 English and Maths levels for measuring progress in those subjects, but you can easily enable the display of transition matrices for other subjects with a few clicks. By default, GO 4 Schools will average the KS2 English and maths levels to get a baseline for other subjects, but you can set explicit baseline for specific subjects if you want to. For instance, averaging English and maths levels is not always a good indication of a student's baseline for music, PE or French.

Sublevels of progress

GO 4 Schools can show the progress a student has made across their curriculum in a progress chart, allowing areas where the student is making less progress than others instantly visible.
