GO 4 Schools and Academy Trusts

GO 4 Schools is an online software system used in 100s of schools across England and Wales. As well as helping schools work faster and smarter with real-time, online collection and analysis of attainment and progress data, it offers joined-up modules for attendance, assessment, behaviour, progress reports, seating plans and homework to help schools embed the use of student data in their day to day decision making.

Trusts

GO 4 Schools Trust view is available to any Trust board where their schools have a subscription to GO 4 Schools. Trust leaders and executive head teachers are able to view key data from all schools in their Trust quickly and easily on a Data Dashboard. This allows an easy comparison of all schools, or a contextual based selection of schools within your Trust, both graphically and through access to the underlying data.

Key performance data is presented in easy to view charts and tables, allowing instant analysis and evaluation of consistent data sets without having to extract information from several sources, saving both the trust and schools time in the collection, collation and correction of information.

The self-service nature of GO 4 Schools allows Trust Leaders to monitor data trends and track key focus groups that may be of specific interest. Prior attainment data ensures comparisons of schools with similar intakes and contexts can be analysed via the key performance indicators prior to reviewing in more depth.

Key benefits to rolling out GO 4 Schools across academy trusts:

  • Up-to-the-minute data – GO 4 Schools offers up-to-the-minute analysis of data without the need for downloads and uploads to other software. Key statistics such as Progress 8 and Attainment 8 are available for schools based on the DfE's current guidance. All data is immediately available for manipulation and analysis in situ the moment it is recorded.
  • Trends – view trends over time from data that builds up over the year from data collected in the school's reporting cycle, and optionally include today's data, too, for the most up-to-the-minute information.
  • Analyse data patterns across all academy schools – Review schools' data across the academy trust, enabling comparison between schools, highlighting successes and looking at areas for improvement which highlight where intervention is needed and best practise can be shared.
  • Identify academy-wide interest groups – Monitor progress and the impact of interventions on school and academy-trust defined groups. For example, look at the performance of key government groups such as Disadvantaged students and school/trust wide defined groups such as White British Disadvantaged boys.
  • One stop solution – Save staff time (and save schools money) by having them use one system for attendance, behaviour, assessment, seating plans and homework. Using a consistent system across the trust facilitates the sharing of good practice between schools and to increase their interaction and understanding of data.
  • Triangulate data – GO 4 Schools offers statistical analysis of individual elements of school wide data. It also offers the opportunity to triangulate this data from class, subject, department and year group levels, and to include behaviour and attendance information alongside progress and attainment data to help identify barriers to learning. The 360° view of data can be incorporated into strategic seating plans to inform teaching in the classroom.
  • Use our experience – All of our consultants are ex-secondary senior leaders, and have worked with schools across the country supporting their ongoing implementation of GO 4 Schools, sharing knowledge, experience and good-practice nationally.
  • Group training – Implementing GO 4 Schools across the academy trust reduces training costs. Multiple staff can be trained at a single site reducing the number of days needed for each school's training. Training will also be provided to central academy staff enabling further organisation-led training specific to each chain's context.
  • Online access for all – As an online product, GO 4 Schools can be accessed from a computer, smart phone or tablet with an internet connection. Parents can access students' information and reports (if desired by the school) via the parent site. Students can be given access to their information too. Many of our schools save significant amounts of money by issuing reports online through the parent portal.
  • Earlier key stages – GO 4 Schools is fully 'Life after Levels' (LaL) ready. Our schools have implemented a wide variety of schemes for tracking at KS1-3 that are suited to their individual contexts. The bespoke nature of the system not only helps schools to construct the right LaL programme, but at an Trust level also supports transition between schools and equips secondary schools with more diagnostic data on pupils. This helps them to plan intervention with students immediately, aiding the battle against the Key Stage 3 dip.
  • Tried and tested in Academy trusts – GO 4 Schools is already working in multi-academy trusts successfully. Dr Jamie Clarke, Trustee of Tove Academy Trust outlines how GO 4 Schools has impacted his group of schools.
" GO 4 Schools has enabled us to access data instantly and immediately for all of our academies. This is something that we have struggled with in the past due to time delay of requesting information in the format required. "
Dr Jamie Clarke, CEO Grace Academy
  • Working in partnership with you – During a time in education where data requirements are ever changing, we believe that partnering with a wide range of trusts over a sustained amount of time is essential to make sure we understand and support the nuances in the way different trusts work with data. In the same way that we work with schools, we aim to have regular contact with trusts to understand the issues they face with data. Dr Clarke comments on the relationship between GO 4 Schools and the Grace Academies Trust.
" The company has its finger on the pulse and appears to be leading us at times with so many changes in accountability measures being introduced at a national level! However, when suggestions are made for improvements, these are listened to and frequently put in place "
Dr Jamie Clarke, CEO Grace Academy

" We are now better placed to know and then understand trends across the Trust and more importantly, know the questions to ask that will lead to improvement. What this really means is that there is more confidence in the data and the subsequent trends since the same methodology is being used in making calculations. It enables us to strategically plan for improvement from a solid evidence base "

Trend lines show subtle changes in data affecting performance measures throughout the year, so schools and school advisors can respond to changes appropriately to support continued improvement. Each timestamp links to 'data snapshots' created by the schools.

Attendance statistics can be populated from the nightly MIS feed into GO 4 Schools, to track differences across schools to ensure issues with persistent absence are managed effectively by the school.
